Thanks to the generosity of UJA-Federation of New York, the ongoing support of New York City Councilman Eric Ulrich, as well as thousands of volunteer hours, Bayside was restored to a place of tranquility and serenity, befitting the sacred obligation of kavod ha-met, caring for the deceased. That work has now been continued by Congregation Shaare Zedek, the cemetery owner, after it sold its synagogue building and agreed to a court-ordered $8 million funding of Bayside.
